Sad to say this is the final magazine-type annual program published. I guess the promoters since Boyd and Jimmy couldn't be bothered with doing a program. But what a great compilation of the history of the track we have for almost 40 years. Much of the obscure history of the track would be lost without these. Back in the 70's, they even did "superlatives" like "best pit crew", "most improved", "hard luck award", etc. for all three divisions. All that would be lost without the programs. But it's not quite Christmas, so I'll post a couple of more surprises the next two days. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to walk down memory lane by taking a look.

These are from the Fairgrounds, but before the paved tracks existed. For many years they held races during the State Fair. Some years they ran the local Modified Specials on Wednesday and Thursday, then the IMCA Sprint cars on Saturday and Sunday. Later, (I think after the paved tracks were built) they moved the local cars to Thursday and Friday while the Sprint cars continued as the weekend headliner. I hope you are able to read the entry lists. Many familiar names from the early days of racing in the Nashville area are represented. And they were very formal back in the day. No nicknames for Lowell Bond (Crash) or Raymond Hassler (Friday) among others.
