Darryl's first race car. A Street Stock race in 1981. That's David Merlin going by on the outside in the #50. This was his next ride. A Limited Sportsman car that he ran in 1982 and 1983. He won a 50-lap State Championship race in this car. Darryl says this was the most fun he had driving a race car. This car is his first Late Model Stock Car that he raced in 1984. This car was built by Gary Jennings. This is the last race car Darryl drove. The "Rod Stillings Special" he calls it. This car later became the "Whistler Radar" car that ran on the quarter mile track in 1990.

Hey Calhoun tell me if memory serves me correctly, didn't Phil drive the car some? It seems like I remember Rod changing the set up on the car to where it was softer on the right side and when I think Phil was driving the car it would almost tote the left front down the straight if not tote it... Talk about a wheel man not many pepole could hussle a car like Phil.

Kamikaze-
I talked to Darryl today. You are right. Phil drove that car early in '88 then Darryl took over for the rest of the season. Phil also drove that car off and on a season or two before that.
Darryl also said Rod played around with the car and ran it in a few races as well. And Darryl agreed that it was sprung very soft.
